For some reason, our text messages are not being received by everyone which means people may be missing out on information, therefore as the fastest growing junior football club in the Midlands, we wanted to make you aware of changes and upcoming events at LJFC, therefore please read this page fully at your leisure - apologies for the length of this article, however not even Ryan could fit all this in one text message!

Our final Monday coaching session takes place this Monday, 21st March, at North Leamington School. With the school site closed on Monday 28th March, and a number of our teams still to play on a Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon during April, we have decided to put on three coaching sessions during April on a Wednesday before we move to our Sunday morning session - dates/times below.

  1. Monday 21st March from 5pm until 8pm (times vary depending on age group - click here for more information).
  2. Wednesday 6th, 13th and 20th April at 6pm until 7:30pm for ALL groups.
  3. Sunday 1st May at 10am until 11:30am for ALL groups.
  4. The Sunday morning coaching sessions will then run each week until the end of August, when we will revert to a Monday evening.

As you know, our End of Season Awards Evening is taking place on Friday 6th May at North Leamington School for our league teams - for information on how to book tickets, please click here.

Tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis and with every child collecting at least one trophy we really hope all the children attend and that all parents can join them in experiencing this fantastic evening! The tickets are selling fast, therefore please text Ryan on 07867 484013 to reserve your tickets and state whether they are standard or premium tickets.

We really look forward to the Awards Evening because we know how much the children enjoy it - if you weren't there last year, please watch the highlights below... this year promises to be bigger and even better!

With a capacity of 400 people and a great atmosphere, we want to make the Awards Evening a night to remember for all!

We have a number of sponsorship opportunities with new and existing teams for next season, with excellent value for money and exposure given to our sponsors. If you know of any local businesses, perhaps your employer or even your own business, who may be interested in discussing the sponsorship opportunities then please contact Ryan on 07867 484013 or click here and he will go through the details with you. As I'm sure you appreciate, sponsorship is essential to run a football club and we rely heavily on the financial support of our sponsors, therefore if you know anyone then please do get in touch.

We are actively recruiting a number of new Coaches for the 2016/17 season to help with our continued expansion and subsequent increase in new players, therefore if you or someone you know is interested in becoming a qualified Coach then please contact Ryan on 07867 484013 or click here.

Last season, our first ever season, we had 6 teams and this season we have 12 teams; next season will see another increase to 20 teams including two girls teams and an adult team - this will make us one of the largest junior football clubs in Leamington, Warwick and Kenilworth in just our third season. Our club ethos, which gives opportunities to all boys and girls to play football regardless of ability, is one of the main reasons we are seeing such an increase at our club, another reason is that we are trying to build a community for children and their families to be a part of away from the football pitch.

Next season we are introducing two girls teams for girls who are currently in Year 3 and Year 7 at school, therefore if you know any girls of that age who may be interested in playing football then please do get in touch, we are very proactive in giving girls as much opportunity to play football as boys, whereas you'll have noticed this season that a lot of other local clubs have very few, if any, girls playing football in the teams.

We are also starting an adult men's team, who will initially play on a Sunday morning, with the intention of them getting to a good standard on a Saturday by the time our junior players start to play for them. Again, if you are interested in playing for the adult men's team or know someone who might be interested then please let us know.

Our next fundraising event is a Race Night on Saturday 16th April at 7pm at Lillington Sports & Social Club. The entry fee is 2 per adult and FREE for children. There will be 8 races during the night; for those who have never been to a Race Night before, it's a great night of entertainment for ALL the family and a fantastic way to help raise funds for the club which will be used to buy new balls, cones, bibs and goals!

If you'd like to come along and support the club at this fundraising event, please contact Ryan on 07867 484013 and let him know how many adult tickets you require.

As you may or may not know, in October 2014 Ryan decided to give up his office career of 10 years to concentrate on the football club as it was growing very rapidly and meant it was taking over his full-time office job. To ensure the football club could grow and to enable us to provide so many opportunities for boys and girls to play football, Ryan started Top Corner Coaching so that he could still give a large amount of his time during the week to the football - his position at the football club is essentially a full-time voluntary position. Ryan is an FA Licenced Coach, Level 2 qualified and Youth Module 3 qualified, with experience of playing at three professional clubs during his younger days, before playing locally at a semi-professional level until injury forced his retirement early. With links to professional clubs, Ryan is also a 'spotter' for a local professional club, which means that he can directly recommend players for trials.

Please see below, more details on what Top Corner Coaching offer:

    1. School Holiday Clubs - Football and multi-sport activities for Reception to Year 8 children at just 12 per child per day (half-price for siblings)
    2. Football Birthday Parties - these are VERY popular for children who love the game!
    3. After school football - if your child's school isn't currently offering this to the children, then please let Ryan know as he'd love to help!
    4. Top Totz Toddler Sessions - suitable for pre-school children from 18 months to 5 years. These sessions are run during the week and at the weekend!
    5. Soccer Skills Bootcamps - coming in April, these sessions suitable for Year 4 to Year 7 children, work on improving players individual skills, giving them the technique and confidence to try them!
    6. 1-to-1 football sessions - also coming in April, these are sessions specifically planned based on the individual's requirements, suitable for Year 1 to Year 7 children!
    7. Top Corner Coaching offers a number of different activities for boys and girls, both in football and multi-sports. They run very affordable and fun Holiday Clubs during every school holiday (Easter Holiday Club starts next week at just 12 per child per day and half-price for siblings), they also host very popular football birthday parties and their Top Totz sessions for pre-school children from 18 months to 5 years. Top Corner Coaching also work with schools in the local area, delivering after school football - they even run school football teams!

Coming up, they will be running their Soccer Skills Bootcamps again during the week, which were very successful last year. These Bootcamps are held every week and are limited to just 10 places for children from Year 4 to Year 7 and they focus on improving players individual skills - ideal for those children who want to have tricks like Messi and Ronaldo! Please let Ryan know on 07867 484013 if your child is interested in the Soccer Skills Bootcamps and he can give you more details.

Also coming up are Top Corner Coaching's new 1-to-1 football sessions, these sessions ensure maximum time is spent with your child working from a detailed individual development programme based on his or hers specific needs following an initial assessment. This 1-to-1 football sessions are suitable for boys and girls in Year 1 to Year 7. Again, please contact Ryan for more details if you're interested.

Many thanks for your time in reading this article, I hope you agree that there is a lot going on at the football club so we feel that it's really important to keep you and your child updated with what's going on.

If anyone is interested in helping out at the football club, then please contact Ryan, we are only successful because of the players, parents, coaches and helpers we have - we work non-stop to ensure this football club is a place your child thoroughly enjoys coming along to, however if you have any queries or issues then please let us know.

We hope you enjoy the rest of the season and we look forward to seeing you at the End of Season Awards Evening!
