Gregory Joins Coaching Staff

We are delighted to announce that ex-LJFC First Team goalkeeper, Phil Gregory, is joining the Club's coaching staff as Head of Goalkeeping.

Phil brings a wealth of experience to the role and will share his knowledge with the Club’s junior goalkeepers and deliver fun and challenging sessions to further develop the young ‘keepers.

On accepting the role, Phil said "After talking to Ryan, I'm excited to have the opportunity to stay with the Club after enjoying playing for the First Team for the past few seasons."

"Since joining LJFC, the commitment and professionalism from the coaches has made me want to get involved."

Phil has always been interested in sharing his goalkeeping knowledge with junior players, and continued "I'm really looking forward to working with the young keepers to help them improve and to give them the attention in a position on the pitch that is often overlooked. Hopefully I'll be able to pass across my experience whilst allowing them to enjoy their football."

The appointment is something LJFC Head Coach Ryan Cranton has been working on for some time and he is thrilled to have Phil onboard "Phil was a superb addition to the Club as a goalkeeper for the First Team, thanks to his patience and encouragement towards members in the squad, and this is why I believe he is exactly the type of person that our young goalkeepers can look up to and learn from."

Ryan continued "Phil's understanding of the position and his ability to relay information, along with his commitment and passion for football, will ensure our young goalkeepers are given all the support needed to enhance their development. We couldn't be happier to have Phil with us and we wish him every success in the role!"

Further details will be sent out to parents of goalkeepers at the Club before Christmas, with sessions starting in January.
